Hobby model railway!


Modelleisenbahn Hamburg e.V. (MEHEV) and the Musuem für Hamburgische Geschichte had a lot to offer around Hamburg's largest model railway system in gauge 1 to the large Model railway festival 2016 invited.

Model railway clubs and model builders provided modular systems and showpieces from size 0 to the smallest Z gauge. A Tin Plate plant in track 0 showed how the model railway hobby and the first of them.

For the first time it was possible to see: At "Schuppen 50" and at old grain silos you experienced railway operation at the quay facilities of the 50s in H0 scale. An American forest railway in gauge 0n30 was also part of it.

In the "Remise" of the museum there was a Playmobil system waiting with an exciting shunting game for the young railway fans. In addition, on Sunday under competent Instructions handicrafts offered for children.

Amateur films show rail traffic around Hamburg in the '60s and '70s. In addition, a sale found antiquarian railway literature and model railway vehicles and accessories.
